WHAT IS THE GAME READY SYSTEM?

RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) has long been used to treat acute and chronic injury and assist in the recovery and rehabilitation from orthopaedic surgery. Game Ready offers the ability to adjust both the temperature and the intermittent compression that is received by the patient and safely deliver the two most-difficult-to-manage aspects of the RICE regime in one easy-to-use application.

The Game Ready System consists of a portable control unit with adjustable pressure, temperature, and timer settings, and NASA technology-based Wraps anatomically designed to fit and treat each major part of the body. Optional accessories including a Dual Connector Hose, Carry Bag, Wrap Bag, and Rechargeable Battery Pack enhance both the applications and portability of the system. Back to Questions

WHY CAN'T I JUST USE A BAG OF ICE?

Game Ready’s adjustable cold therapy allows you to adjust the temperature, aiding your comfort – without the mess of ice packs. With static applications of applying cold therapy such as ice / gel packs or cuffs, the temperature of such applications starts to increase as soon as they are applied to the body hence lessening their effectiveness. This is because heat is transferred from the injured and inflamed tissue of the body part being treated into the ice pack or cuff that has been applied, hence warming-melting the fluid-ice that is contained within such applications.

With Game Ready’s Control Unit and NASA technology-based Anatomical Wraps, cold water is circulated through the applied body-part- specific Wrap before passing back through the ice reservoir in a continuous loop, thus allowing a more effective application of cold therapy.

WHAT TEMPERATURE SETTINGS ARE AVAILABLE?
Game Ready can deliver therapy at temperatures ranging from 0°C and above, depending on the amount of ice used. The Game Ready System involves the continual flow of water that is circulated through the Control Unit and Anatomical Wraps, therefore eliminating the risk of freezing or applying a sub-zero treatment, thus minimizing the risk of tissue burn or necrosis. HOW DOES GAME READY DIFFER FROM OTHER PRODUCTS?
Game Ready offers the simultaneous delivery of both intermittent compression and adjustable cold therapy in one easy-to-use unit. Game Ready is different from traditional cold therapy and compression methods (eg, ice packs) because it features:

· Form-fitting, flexible fabric Wraps that completely surround the affected area for circumferential cold therapy.
· Patented technology that continuously cycles fluid throughout every part of the Wrap.
· Adjustable temperature and intermittent compression, helping to promote greater comfort.
· Ease of use—without the mess of ice packs.

There are many features that allows the Game Ready System to stand out from other products. In addition to the clinical effectiveness and portability that the Game Ready System offers, there are also some practical considerations.
The foremost of these is that the Game Ready Control Unit is not a refrigeration unit, hence it does not contain any refrigerant gas, chemicals, glycol or antifreeze. It is safe to use from the operating theatre to the hospital ward, on all forms of transportation, and of course in the workplace or privacy of the home. In addition, the compression that is provided by the Game Ready System is pneumatic, that being it is provided by air rather than fluid being placed under pressure. To learn more about these features, please contact Game Ready in the UK. Back to Questions

WHAT ABOUT CARE AND STORAGE?

The Game Ready Control Unit can be cleaned with a mild disinfectant (warm water with mild detergent, Lysol, 70% isopropyl alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide). Store in the carrying case or in a protected place. To prevent mould or mildew growth, be sure to remove water and ice before storing.
The removable outer Wrap fabric sleeves can be washed by hand or machine, and replaced if necessary. The exterior of the inner liner (heat exchanger) that contains the air and water chamber can be cleaned with a soft cloth and one of the above disinfectants. To clean the air and water chamber interiors, connect the assembled wrap to the Control Unit via the Connector Hose, fill the Control Unit one third full with standard hydrogen peroxide (or one lid measure of standard household bleach and water) and run the system for five minutes. When not in use, coil the Connector Hoses and fold or roll the Wrap(s). To prevent mould or mildew growth, do not store in enclosed plastic containers. Back to Questions
